Oh, what a horrible day - tipping down here and cold to, I have a fleece blanket on my knees and feel to cold to craft.................thought I'd put an older card on here today

This one I made a couple of months ago, not for anyone in particular, although I have since given it as a birthday card to a friend I used to work with

It's on a biege, linen effect base card, A5 in size...I used a Justrite sentiment stamp in a brown ink (I also used this stamp embossed in gold on the insert).  I cut out a design I had on my Cameo from the front of the card and once I had covered a small piece of adhesive card with gold flakes and stuck that in position I carefully put the cutout back in place.

I also used gold flakes on the butterflies (found these in my stash) added a few gold coloured gems and there we have it.

I'll be back soon, hopefully when the weather warms up x

Another card for you today, this is one I made for our Son's birthday earlier this month - quite simple but, I feel it is so different as the centre circle really pops out at you, especially in 'real life'

I used an 8x8" base card and matted it with black card........I then cut out the design on my Cameo in white card and popped some Hunkdory sentiments onto it

The design is a free one from Monica in Sweden, this lady is amazing and has so many great designs for us to use - hope you like it

Until next time.............Ooops, just realised the wording is upside down and I'm not sure how to change it here, but you'll get the drift

Hi there, just thought I'd pop a photo of a card I made for my Mum's birthday in June on here, I'd lost the piccie, which is why it took so long to put on here.

The card is made from a Kanban set I have from this year.  I used the box card and flowers from the kit.  The wording was done on my Silhouette as I found a really good tip about cutting in vinyl and then using foil on it.................it works brilliantly, so many uses for this technique!  I also did the butterflies the same way.

My Mum loved it as it is quite tactile ... as she is slowly losing her sight it was good for her to be able to feel the wording and flowers, etc.

Thanks for dropping by.......more soon x

Here is quite a simple card I made for my Son to give to his Sister for her 40th in July.  It's from a digikit on CraftArtist..........Birthday girl........I changed a few of the items on the ready made card, printed it out and cut down to size..............

I hope you like my cards and photos.........bye for now x

40th Birthday card

Hello again................I have been missing as very busy for the past few days.  I had three lady cousins come up from London on Friday, also my Mum and H.  What a day we had, so many laughs!!  Lazy day yesterday, Mr and me were in the garden in the afternoon and had a really good time, listening to some golden oldies, singing and dancing along.....it was great!!!  Lovely barbie as well.

Okay, now for the card..........I made this one for my Daughter's 40th in July.

I used a Sue Wilson embossing folder and matted that with white card, ran distress ink around the edges to tie it with the colour I was using for the rest of it.

I cut the Tattered Lace Happy Birthday die in burgundy card and coloured some gems with a Spectrum Noir pen so that all matched as well.

I cut the 40 on chipboard in my Silhouette, sprayed it with CC Stick and Stay and covered that with burgundy glitter.

I then used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the 'fabulous' in.................you guessed it, burgundy vinyl and  topped that with foil through my Letseret foiling machine and stuck that to the card..........the 40 is raised up using Collal 3d glue.

I finished it off with burgundy seam binding at the top and a little triple bow, also two clear stick pins into the bow..

Star wars card

Hello again, two days in a row............wow!!

We have some workmen in today as we need new fencing between us and our neighbour... the whole side needed doing, still has been there for over 20 years so not done to badly, eh??

Reg, one of our cats has just brought a mouse into the conservatory, I closed the doors to stop him going any further..........went back out there and he has devoured almost the whole poor thing!!  Ugh!!  We've always had cats since we married back in 1971, trouble is I just can't stand the dead animals and birds they bring home for me from time to time..............I have had a phobia of birds and feathers since childhood................why, do I keep getting cats, I ask myself!!!

Okay, today is a card I made for Mr's birthday this month, this one is from our Son, who asked me to make it for his Dad who loves Star Wars...........we have all the DVD's and have movie weekends, normally in the winter when we sit on the sofa and scoff lots of bad food and drink ;)

Here is the card, I found the main image on the internet recently, took it into my CraftArtist programme and added the text.  I then matted onto some black and red card...............I also used some red glitter on the lightsaber to make it stand out a bit more.

Hope you like it...........

Male 40th birthday card

Okay, I know two in one day. hey what can I say

This card is one I made for my Son in Law for his 40th Birthday in April.  He loves sport and cricket is one of his favourites.

I used kraft card for the base card and matted and layered with some black card - I then printed out the main image from a My Craft Studio CD rom but, included my own text for the Forty not out showing.  I then used the silhouette to cut out the frame and stuck this over the wording, I also stuck a few pearls on for a bit more texture - in hindsight I should have coloured them black for a more masculine look.

Hope you like this masculine card:

90th Birthday card

Hi

Late again, what can I say!!

Here's a card I made earlier in the year for an Auntie who had turned 90 - it was made on the Silhouette using a template from Monica - you can find her and lots of free cutting files at Monicas Creative Room.  Monica is a very talented lady and I have lots of her files stored on my Silhouette.

I used a purple coloured card, Docrafts I think as is textured and cuts nicely on the Silhouette Cameo.  I also cut out the numbers from Silhouette chipboard and covered them with Crafters Compansion Stick and Spray and then some silver glitter.  I also put clear gems on the points at the back of the card and the large centre circle.

I then used the back of the card as a template and cut out an inset on the Cameo, using a purple sketch pen to write out my sentiment - sorry no photo, but you may just make some out in my main photo.  I sized the card to fit a 6x6" envelope.

Hope you like it

Banner and card for Mum

Okay, now on with photos of banner and a card made for my Mum's birthday from my StepDad (can't seem to find the one I made from me, one of those photos that wanders off).  The banner was done on my Silhouette Cameo....I had a banner shape and then just put the wording in and cut it out, turned out quite well for my first attempt at something like this......the card was made from a recent Kanban kit, Lovely in Lace

I used a backing sheet from the kit with the lace design and then glitter the edge of the topper with Cosmic shimmer twinkles and raised it up with Collall 3D glue, I stamped in versamark and added white embossing powder, I also added some paper flowers that I've had for ages, ribbon bow and pearly fronds (can't remember where they came from!!), I did do an insert but, neglected to take a photo of that............I will learn, promise!!

I have more to post but, will leave now before I bore you - I hope to be back tomorrow with some more cards I have made

Byeeeeeeeeee

Happy Saturday

Happy Saturday everyone!!

Today John, my Husband and I have been busy in the garden, lots of weeding in what we call our shady bed............our garden got really overgrown in the past few years and we have decided to redo it.  Due to this the shady part of the garden got a lot of weeds and we are now in the process of sorting that out.

I have also made a Happy Birthday banner for my Mum who is 85 tomorrow, she and my StepDad are coming to lunch - I will try to get a photo of it for posting here so you can all see it and the card I made for my Mum.

thanks for stopping by......until next time

Hello to my blog

Hi, my name is Jackie aka Jaccards. This is my first blog and I hope to post on a regular basis!!!

I love making cards and to some degree scrapbooking, I have some varied interests and will try to include all of them on my blog. I love using my Silhouette Cameo V3, my Ebosser and my CD collection, along with CraftArtist 2 and MCS programmes.

You will have to bear with me while I get the hang of this as a newbie to it all and not sure how many times a week I will post anything.

The card above is one I made last year as I have not uploaded any from this year as yet. It was a free design I had and I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut it out, I added vellum behind the frame and finished it off with some gems in each corner, this is quite a quick and simple card to make - I hope you like it and I will get more photos on here asap, thanks for taking a look
